Jesus Outed in Megachurch, Film at 11

You really, really need to check out this incredible set of posts by Mac. It's particularly poignant if you've ever visited a megachurch or mega-wannabe, and heard some of the watered-down drivel that oozes out of some of them.

(To be fair, I've been to a number of churches that seat thousands of people, where the Gospel has been preached in it's purest forms and where faith and the world meet every single week. But I've also experienced the other, too.)

Thanks to Rick at a new life emerging for the hat-tip...

Wow....

It seems that these spam-bloggers are running a bit rampant these days....

Anyway -- yes, Doghouse's short play/writing (film") is a wonderful read. I found myself laughing out loud and thinking rather deeply as to when I've put Jesus in a closet, no matter whether it's stinky one from the Inquisition or a pine-scented one from a megachurch. Yes, it's VERY easy to lampoon mega-C's and mega-wannabe's, but the challenge that I'm faced with after reading such a great piece of fiction is figuring out how I've tied up Jesus in my life.

Yeah, I may have to put one of those spam-traps on here, the way things are going.

And how true, to see the places where Jesus is bound-and-gagged in my own life. Introspection is not always a fun thing...
